Peter (SK) Tour Leader

Peter is from Slovakia and crazy about nature. He grew up near the Low Tatras National Park and so obviously he went and studied Environmental Science and Planning in university. He never made a career out of it because (horribly) his travelling got in the way.

Peter has lived and worked in Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Iceland, UK, and USA. From his travels Peter has a passion for learning about new cultures and meeting people from all over the world. He has also worked with children teaching them sky and inline skating.

Now Peter has taken his passion for teaching into tour guiding. On his cool tours he shares his endless knowledge of local nature and also culture and history with everyone around.

"Peter our leader"

Nice, leisurely drive from Prague to Berlin. Pleasant stop at Litomerice. Moritzburg was a beautiful stop. Warm, sunny weather brought out the crowds. On to Dresden where we had lunch and walked around to see the major sites. Since we couldn’t stop at the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, Peter offered to drop us off at our hotels in Berlin. Great drive

"Best way to get from A to B"

I took the Side Trip from Berlin to Prague and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Peter was an excellent guide and driver. All of our stops had a lot of variety, and Peter made sure we had enough time to see everything. His stories about the history of the tows were bother funny and informative. The sandstone cliffs were my favourite, and we got there with enough daylight to appreciate them. I highly recommend Side Trip instead of a bus or a train, as it was Much better

"The Guide is the Key"

Peter is a great guide. Experienced and knowledgeable. He was sensitive to his passengers and respectful to their needs.

"Transit becoming a tour"

Enjoyable and see things you otherwise won’t see

"Scenic and relaxing travel choice"

This was definitely a much better way to travel from Prague to Berlin. Don't expect to have a lot of time at each stop, but it's still better than sitting on a train/bus for four hours. Dresden is an amazing city - I absolutely want to go back and see more! We unfortunately couldn't get to the national park because it was a nice day and everyone in the country decided they wanted to visit too! Still, Peter made the day lovely and had great anecdotes for many places we visited. I would definitely recommend this to friends, and would choose to travel this way again in future!

"Enjoyed our autumn day of travel"

We took this trip between Berlin and Prague, with Peter on October 2019. At first I was somewhat concerned because there were eight of us in the van including Peter and lots of luggage. Peter very adroitly loaded all the luggage, and there was more than sufficient room for all of us in the van. Peter was an excellent driver and we never had a concern for our safety – even when it began to rain. Miles flew by, the rain stopped and before we knew it we were in Moritzburg. It was a lovely little town, with a very large castle. Peter talked a little about the castle and gave us some time to see the inside. We then went to Dresden. We had a light lunch at a little shop, then went on a walking tour of the old part of town, stopping for pictures and explanations of the sights. Peter provided commentary for the tour. Next was a top at Saxon Switzerland to see the beautiful scenery. Peter dropped us at a central location, and then retrieved us about 1/2 hour later-sufficient time for a visit. Lastly, we stopped at a small town just inside the Czech border. Giving us time to go to a bank and get Czech money and get refreshments. All in all, it was a great way to travel between the two cities AND do a little sightseeing as well. Peter always was very clear in his instructions, where we would meet and at what time. Safe, clean and comfortable. I found ‘SideTrip’ when I was on the webpage for ‘Prague Behind the Scenes’ tours.
