Join our entertaining and easy-going road trip from Prague to Munich. We travel through the picturesque Old Town of Regensburg, visit the most famous castle in the Czech Republic – the Karlstejn Castle, and taste the original Pilsner beer in Pilsen. We’ll help you discover two countries and take you to places you’d never make it to in just one day.

Our knowledgeable local tour leaders take a small group, maximum of 8 people, for a fun-filled 10-hour road trip from Prague to Munich (click here to book this tour the other way – from Munich to Prague). You will learn about the history, culture, and most importantly the people of both the Czech Republic and Germany.

Start your day by taking a stroll in the cute little town of Karlstejn, where you can see one of the best examples of a gothic style castle – the Karlstejn Castle. It is the former palace of the most famous king of Bohemia and the Holy Roman Emperor, King Charles IV.

Then, by lunchtime, we arrive at Pilsen, the city famous for its original Pilsner beer. Sit down for a delicious meal (not included) and enjoy a cold pint of fresh Pilsner, before taking a walk in the picturesque Old Town of Pilsen and learning more about beer and its history at the Pilsen Beer Museum.

In the afternoon, learn the legends of the gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Old Town of Regensburg and take a look at its famous St Peter’s Cathedral before heading off to Munich, the city of Octoberfest.

"We would definitely use Sidetrip again"

The meeting spot in Prague and Munich was easy to find. The van was very comfortable and very clean. Peter was a great tour guide and shared lots of info about the area and culture. We would definitely travel with Sidetrip again - a great alternative to bus or train.

"What’s wonderful way to travel between cities "

We had a wonderful day traveling with our guide Peter. He really was lovely and happy to chat away with us talking about everything from the culture, scenery and history of Germany. He was very knowledgeable. It was only us and another couple on the trip and I found it to be a wonderful way to get from Prague to Munich. I would highly recommend this trip and also our wonderful Guide Peter.

"Wonderful alternative to train ride"

I am so glad that I booked a tour with Sidetrip instead of taking a long train ride. My husband and I had a great time from Prague to Munich. The meeting spot in Prague was easy to find and the van was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the stops at the Karltejn Castle, Pilsner, and Regensburg. The location of the stops made it so that you didn't have to spend too long sitting in the van each time. Our tour guide, Peter, was really great to talk to and knowledgeable about the local culture. He was also a really safe driver. I would definitely recommend Sidetrip,

"Roadtrip with Jakub"

Jakub is a great guide, friendly and attentive and tells good stories about the places we visited. He made the whole trip feels like a friend taking us on the trip rather than just another tour guide. He is very professional at the same time. We offered to buy him beer but he gently but firmly declined. He doesn’t drink on the job. Who can resist beer 🍺 while in beer country but him! Really enjoyed the trip from Prague to Munich.

"Great tour visiting spots we otherwise wouldn't see"

Comfortable and cosy bus, with a knowledgable local guide. It was great to learn about spots we wouldn't have otherwise visited and as the guide was local, hear about European culture along the way!

"Why catch a train!!!!!!!"

This tour met and exceeded my expectations , thanks for a great guide and an awesome trip. I would certainly recommend this

Meeting Point

The tour starts in front of EMA Espresso Bar (Na Florenci street 1420/3, Prague). Look out for a minivan with Sidetrip logo. Our guide will meet you at the marked meeting point.
