Join our entertaining and easy-going road trip from Prague to Munich. We travel through the picturesque Old Town of Regensburg, visit the most famous castle in the Czech Republic – the Karlstejn Castle, and taste the original Pilsner beer in Pilsen. We’ll help you discover two countries and take you to places you’d never make it to in just one day.

Our knowledgeable local tour leaders take a small group, maximum of 8 people, for a fun-filled 10-hour road trip from Prague to Munich (click here to book this tour the other way – from Munich to Prague). You will learn about the history, culture, and most importantly the people of both the Czech Republic and Germany.

Start your day by taking a stroll in the cute little town of Karlstejn, where you can see one of the best examples of a gothic style castle – the Karlstejn Castle. It is the former palace of the most famous king of Bohemia and the Holy Roman Emperor, King Charles IV.

Then, by lunchtime, we arrive at Pilsen, the city famous for its original Pilsner beer. Sit down for a delicious meal (not included) and enjoy a cold pint of fresh Pilsner, before taking a walk in the picturesque Old Town of Pilsen and learning more about beer and its history at the Pilsen Beer Museum.

In the afternoon, learn the legends of the gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Old Town of Regensburg and take a look at its famous St Peter’s Cathedral before heading off to Munich, the capital of Octoberfest.

"Intercity transfer"

Everything was great, with the exception of Karlstejn Castle being closed on Mondays. Sasha (Alexandra) our driver was an excellent guide!

"Best way to travel"

We had an awesome time on our side trip and are so glad we went this route instead of taking the train. It was awesome to share stories with our guide, hear the history that he knew about the sites we visited, and we had the added bonus of meeting another lovely couple traveling with us. Highly recommend.

"Sarka was the key to our excellent tour!!"

Sarka, our wonderful driver and tour guide, was truly wonderful and so knowledgeable -- she went above and beyond to accommodate us and she shared so much about the history of both Prague and Munich on our way. She was the key to our wonderful experience hands-down!!!

"Perfect"

Great travel experience, better than flying - Paulina our guide was very knowledgeable and made our trip fun and interesting; Highly recommended.

"Great Trip with Peter!"

We had a wonderful time with this experience! It’s an fantastic way to see a several areas of Germany and Prague that you may not see other ways. Peter was a terrific guide giving us lots of history on the sights we saw and the travel was a breeze. I could have done without the beer museum since there seemed like other places we could have seen in Pilsen instead but overall, great trip! Prague castle was fascinating and loved seeing Regensburg as well!

"Scenic Prague - Munich"

This is the first time we try a one way trip and it sure beats the usual ride from A to B which would have been a boring journey to reach the destination. The Prague - Munich journey took us to Karlštejn Castle for a scenic break. Lunch break was at Pilsen where we also visited the brewery museum. We continued on to Regensburg Cathedral and took a tour of the town. These are places which we wouldn't normally have gone as they are out of our way. Taking this trip was a good decision! Our guide Petr was knowledgeable and a safe driver. My family had an enjoyable journey.

Meeting Point

The tour starts in front of EMA Espresso Bar (Na Florenci street 1420/3, Prague). Look out for a minivan with Sidetrip logo. Our guide will meet you at the marked meeting point.
