About Lednice Palace
The Lednice Palace and Gardens, as we see them today, were redesigned in the 19th century as a luxurious summer retreat for the aristocrats. The palace itself is considered one of the finest examples of English Gothic architecture on the European continent, with its ornate towers, intricate stone carvings, and grand interiors.
The Liechtenstein family, one of the richest aristocratic families in Central Europe, owned vast lands in the region. We’ll take a walk through Telč, one of the most romantic Old Towns in Europe, known for its fairytale-like beauty. According to local legend, the townspeople once competed to build the most beautiful house on the main square—each trying to outdo the others.
The result is the stunning Town Hall Square, lined with colourful Renaissance-style houses featuring high gables and decorative facades. Each building has its own charm, creating a unique and picturesque setting that feels like stepping into a storybook.

About Telč
Telč is a small town in the Czech Republic with a population of around 5,000 people, best known for its storybook beauty and remarkably preserved historic center. The town was first mentioned in written records in the 14th century, and over time, it grew in importance thanks to its location along key trade routes.
The golden age of Telč was in the 17th century, when trade brought wealth and prosperity to the town. During this period, the main square was transformed, as wealthy merchants and townspeople built the now-famous colourful Renaissance houses with high gables and decorative facades. These fairytale-like buildings, perfectly lining the square, remain one of the finest examples of Renaissance urban planning in Europe.
Today, the historic center of Telč is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting visitors with its unique charm, rich history, and picture-perfect architecture.

Vienna to Prague one-way transfer

We are so happy we chose Side Trip Tours for our transfer from Vienna to Prague. Our driver, Jana, was delightful! She explained the history of the areas we visited and gave us walking tours of our 3 stops— Lednice Palace, Znogmo and Telč! She suggested a wonderful restaurant for a traditional lunch and helped us to order coffee for the road! We were a group of 5–teenagers to grandparent and we had a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic! Just do this!

We travelled with Martina who picked is up at our group meeting point in Vienna. We ended up being the only travelers so she offered to accommodate any request we had but as a group we decided to keep the original tour plan as it was awesome as it was. I just cannot even say how kind/caring and attentive Martina was. One member of our group was not feeling great and Martina went above and beyond gathering information for us should we need to visit a clinic. The tour was so informative, there was just so much you would never get to hear or know and understand but when being driven by a local who can give you special insight it is just phenomenal! I cannot say enough about this tour group and the drivers they employee.

Martin is the best guide I have ever had

The one-way trip from Vienna to Prague is well arranged. We enjoyed the all 3 beautiful stops very much. Especially, Martin gave us the very comfortable and leisurelyl pace with his very knowledgeable guidance and attentive consideration. We feel very grateful for all of these. Besides, we were lucky to have only 4 people on a very spacious mini van. Overall, we will give this trip a 5 🌟 rating. Thank again to Martin 👍

Is this a one-way tour?

Yes, this is a one-way tour ending in Prague. Please note that the tour does not take you back to Vienna.
How long is this tour?

The planned duration of this tour is 9-10 hours. For the safety of our passengers and drivers, we are unable to accommodate requests to extend this duration.
Do you offer hotel pick-up/drop-off?

Hotel pick-up and drop-off are only available when booking this tour as a private tour for a single group. Open group tours have a fixed meeting point and drop-off location.
Can I take my luggage with me?
Yes! We have space for luggage, similar to common airline baggage allowances. There is no extra charge for luggage that meets these criteria:
- One item of airline carry-on size: maximum size of 55 x 40 x 23cm (22 x 14 x 9in)
- One item of airline checked size: maximum size of 80 x 50 x 30cm (32 x 20 x 12in), weighing less than 23 kg (50lbs)
- One personal item: maximum size of 15 x 15 x 10 cm (6 x 6 x 4in)

Is lunch included in the tour price?

Lunch is not included in the tour price but a lunch break is scheduled in Znojmo. Kindly let our tour leader know if you have any special dietary needs that we should take in account.
Is this tour suitable for senior citizens?

Yes! With a maximum of 8 people in each group, our guide can make sure that the pace of the tour is suitable for everyone. Just note that the tour does include some walking at the stops.
What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel more than 48 hours before the tour, your booking is fully refunded*. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the tour or in the case of a no-show, no refund is issued.
