Fantastic, convenient way to travel between Prague - Dresden

Overall experience was fantastic - what a great way to travel between two places and fit a bit more into your trip. Our tour guide was amazing, she was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour - throwing in hilarious little bits of information here and there along with all the great historical facts. The places we stopped were also great - lunch was really tasty. There didn’t seem to be too many stops or too few, just perfect.

    Litoměřice

    What we'll do

We visit the city center that is a mix of charming and colorful Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque style buildings. Litoměřice’s St. Stephen's Cathedral is the seat of the Catholic Bishop and we see the church towering over the city. You’ll walk around the narrow and picturesque streets of Litoměřice and learn from you guide about its fascinating history.

    About Litoměřice

Litoměřice is a beautifully preserved small town in Czech Republic with a population of about 24 000 people. This historic city was founded over a thousand years ago in the 10th century. Positioned on the Elbe River, Litoměřice has been through its history an important trade center. Trade brought both wealth and people to the area. The population of the town has been a mix of Germans, Slavs, and Jews. In the 20th century, especially during the Second World War, the region saw great upheaval and destruction.

    What we'll do

The whole area of Elbe Sandstone Mountains offers incredible views. We visit one of the must-see locations - the Bastei Bridge . The bridge was built when the area became popular to visit in the 19th century. From the Bastei rocks and the Bastei Bridge you have a wonderful panoramic view over the mountains and surrounding evergreen forests.

    About Elbe Sandstone Mountains

The Elbe Sandstone Mountains are situated on the border between Germany and Czech Republic. Both countries have designated the area as a National Park, in Germany the Saxon Switzerland National Park and in Czech Republic the Bohemian Switzerland National Park.

The mountains here are not very high, the highest peak is the Děčínský Sněžník with 722,8 m on the Czech side. These sandstone mountains are millions of years old and eroded down by wind and water.

  • Stop 3: Moritzburg Palace

We will stroll around Moritzburg Palace to admire the gorgeous views of one of the most magnificent examples of Baroque-style architecture in Germany.

    Moritzburg Palace

    What we'll do

During the tour we walk around the Moritzburg Palace grounds admiring the garden and the park views. We do not enter the palace but we get a close-up look. On the steps of the palace is also a chance for everyone to find out if they have what it takes to be a fairytale princess by trying on Cinderella’s shoe.

    About Moritzburg Palace

Moritzburg Palace is named after Duke Moritz of Saxony who built a small hunting lodge here in the 16th century. The king August II the Strong had the current Baroque-style palace built in the 18th century as his country seat.

The palace is surrounded by a stunning park and gardens area. Ironically, none of the plans (and there have been many) for the garden have been fully finished, and the work with them is still continuing.

Awesome trip from Prague to Dresden

My group and I had an awesome time traveling from Prague to Dresden with guide Filip. All of our stops were interesting and we had a delicious lunch at a seafood restaurant in a small town named Pirna. If you have the time, I highly recommend this excursion
