Wonderful trip!

Thanks to Peter from Sidetrip for making this unique trip from Vienna To Salzburg possible, and also to Stepan who connected us to Peter and helped us navigate the process. We had taken 2 previous Sidetrip tours snd were delighted they made this special arrangement for us. This was by far the most comfortable and beautiful of all the trips we made. Michal, our guide was extraordinarily personable and a wonderful driver. He picked us up in his new Mercedes Van which was quiet and allowed us to adjust our seats. This was particularly helpful for my husband who is quite tall. Beyond the comforts, Michal a former pilot, spoke wonderful English, as he grew up in the US, but also was very knowledgeable about the area as he had lived in the Czech Republic and near the Austrian border most of his life. We requested that we stop in Hallstatt and spend a few hours there rather than make several shorter stops. Michal was encouraging and took us on a beautiful scenic drive to this gorgeous city in the Alps. We ascended the funicular there and enjoyed lunch overlooking the city and the Alps. Just breathtaking A magnificent journey with this innovative company and this extraordinary driver and guide.

    What we'll do

During the tour we take a walk through the stunning Old Town of Český Krumlov. The narrow streets flanked by Renaissance style houses will take you back in time. The castle towering over the small town only adds to the fairytale-feel of Český Krumlov. We will also walk the grounds of the medieval castle and enjoy the views to the surrounding area from the top of the hill. The castle is famous not only for its own beauty and lovely gardens but also for bears that live in the moat. There will be time for a lunch stop in Český Krumlov (not included).

    About Český Krumlov

Český Krumlov town grows in medieval times around the castle. The castle was built on a strategic hill by the bend of the Vltava River where it controlled the fording of the river. Naturally this promoted trade and the city grew rich. The castle has been rebuilt several times through the centuries in the same location. Today you can follow the different architectural styles mixing together to form a unique complex. Until the 20th century Český Krumlov had a mostly German population. This changed after the Second World War, the German population was expelled and replaced by Czechs. Today the town has a population of 13 000 people.

Gorgeous travel day

We had an excellent time with Pavlina. She is a gem!! We saw Cesky Krumlov, which is just amazingly beautiful, and had a delicious lunch along the river. The drive along the river to Salzburg was also beautiful. Pavlina was everything you'd want in a guide - knowledgeable, smart, delightful personality, and an excellent driver! It was a wonderful day!

Another excellent day with Juraj

One of the most beautiful drives we have ever done. Amazing visit to Cesky Krumlov. Wonderful suggestion for lunch stop. Juraj was interested in us and ensuring our expectations for the day were met. We would be happy to tour with Juraj again.
