Fun day trip to enjoy

This is a great way to explore cities and towns between Bratislava and Prague! From the very beginning, the communication from Side Trip tours was very easy. Our guide Juraj was so nice and made the trip customized to what interested the most. We were able to explore the towns without feeling rushed. The best part is exploring towns you would not normally see if you’re limited on time during your trip. I would highly recommend this day trip to anyone traveling between Bratislava and Prague!

    Lednice Palace

    What we'll do
We will have a chance to walk around the beautiful and famous gardens surrounding the Palace during the tour. Lednice Palace and Gardens , the way we see them today, are designed in the 19th century for entertaining in the summer season. They palace is probably the best example of English Gothic style in Continental Europe. The Palace and Grounds, about 200h, are under UNESCO World Heritage protection due their unique architectural landscape.

    About Lednice
Lednice Palace and Grounds is a fabulous example of wealth the nobility had in Europe in the 19th century. The Lichtenstein family had huge landholdings in the area that they had gathered gradually over the centuries through conquering, marrying, and buying. It was their loyalty to the Habsburg dynasty that raised the Lichtensteins to great prominence in the Austria-Hungarian Empire.

  • Stop 2: Mikulov Wine Region

We enjoy the views of Mikulov Wine Region and visit a local Moravian winery (optional).

    What we'll do
During the tour we have an option to visit one of Mikulov Wine Regions vineyards to see the vines and, most importantly, sample some of the wine. This is available for an extra fee during the tour and will be decided on the day if the group is interested.

    About Mikulov Wine Region
Mikulov Wine Region in South Moravia is famous for its vineyards. If you think Czech Republic associates only with beer then think again! Wine from this country and especially from Moravia is world famous. The tradition of growing grapes here dates back to Roman period in the third century. Yet Mikulov region grew famous for wine in medieval times. And despite the many wars that have raged in Europe in this area the vineyards have never died out. The region’s lime-rich soil and favorable climate is best for different types of white wine grapes. The tradition of growing these grapes is carried by family owned little vineyards.

  • Stop 3: Znojmo

We take a walk through the crooked lanes and hidden courtyards of the picturesque town Znojmo.

    Znojmo

    What we'll do
Walking the narrow streets and crooked back alleys in search of stunning views from the top of the hill is great fun. You will see the beautiful
St Nicholas Church and the Town Hall , not to mention the breathtaking views over the river. Our stop in Znojmo is also just in time for a lunch break (not included) to refresh ourselves. This city is well off the beaten path in the Czech Republic and takes you away from the usual touristy sights.

    About Znojmo
Znojmo, with population around 33 000 people is the second largest city in South Moravia after Brno. Znojmo gains city rights in 13th century, the settlement grew around an earlier fortress. The city is located on a strategic hill by the Thaya River and this gives Znojmo a unique hilly street layout.

    What we'll do
We take a look at one of the most romantic Old Towns in Europe. Legend goes that the competitive nature of the people in Telč created this stunning town in Czech Republic. The citizens competed over who could build the prettiest house to the Town Hall Square . Today we can enjoy the outcome - the multicoloured houses with high gables in Renaissance style lining the square. This beautiful Old Town is under UNESCO World Heritage protection.

Bratislava to prague!

Pavlina was absolutely amazing. My friend and I are studying abroad and wanted to actually see the Czech Republic, not just Prague and side trips allowed us to do so! Pavlina was super knowledgeable and has amazing energy. We stopped at incredible places and both agree the money was worth it and that our trip would not be the same without Pavlina's tour!!

Exactly what we were looking for!

Our family had a really great time with Sarka on our way from Bratislava to Prague! We wanted to make sure we took advantage of our time and saw as much as we could, and she made sure to personalize our trip and gave us options of places to go. Sarka is an amazing human being, so personable and knowledgeable... We enjoyed our time with her so much! Everything went according to plan and the day just flew by. We highly recommend this experience if you want to see some beautiful sites that you could miss on the train. Thank you, Sarka, and Sidetrip Tours!
