Join our fun and easy-going road trip from Budapest to Bratislava. We travel through the scenic Danube Bend area; and enjoy the atmosphere of the cute little towns of Szentendre and Győr. We’ll bring you to places you’d never visit in one day and help you discover the Hungarian and Slovakian countryside in the best possible way.

Our knowledgeable local tour guides take a small group, maximum of 15 people, for a fun-filled 10-hour road trip from Budapest to Bratislava (click here to book this tour the other way – from Bratislava to Budapest). You will learn about the history, culture, and most importantly the people of Hungary and Slovakia.

Start the day by discovering the scenic area of the Danube Bend. We take a relaxed walk around Szentendre before continuing on towards Visegrad where we stop on top of the hill to breathe in the amazing views of the river. In Visegrad, we can also sit down for lunch.

Further down the road, in Esztergom, we admire the magnificent Basilica and hop over to the Slovakian side to take a panoramic shot of the monumental building as well. In the early evening, we enjoy a stroll in the fairytale-like Baroque Old Town of Győr before heading off to Bratislava.

Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor

"Nice way to travel between cities"

Our tour guide and driver created a great day for us. A very personal experience with lots of information.

"Budapest to Bratislava "

We had an excellent guide. Her knowledge of the history of the area is incredible. She spoke very good English and kept us all engaged. Would highly recommend this trip.

"Fantastic"

I'm sorry I cannot remember the young guides name but she was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her country. We were one of the first tours she had taken on this trip She could answer all questions. We went to a small city that had a fort and an area with many different types of architecture but it could have been left off the tour.

"Budapest to Bratislava "

The guide and driver were very helpful and knowledgeable. The tour was a little too long and maybe too much history for a non-Hungarian. Overall the trip was enjoyable. The van was very comfortable.

"Great experience!"

We had a great tour with Noemi! Thanks so much!

"Exploring unknown places Hungary and Slovakia with great company"

This trip gave us the possibility to learn new places of Hungary and Slovakia, mostly not described in your typical guidebook. Our guide was a very friendly and enthusiastic person, who gave us very good instructional and sometimes funny explanations of the monuments and places.

Meeting Point

The tour starts at Erzsebet Square (Erzsébet tér), opposite to the Hotel Ritz-Carlton, a few meters from the stop of bus no 16. Look out for a minivan with Sidetrip logo. Our guide will meet you at the marked meeting point.
