Join our fun and easy-going road trip from Prague to Budapest. We roam the streets of Brno – the Czech Republic's second largest city, visit the UNESCO-listed Lednice Palace, travel through the picturesque Mikulov Wine Region, discover the capital of Slovakia - Bratislava, and admire the beautiful Old Town of Györ before reaching our final destination - Budapest. We’ll bring you to places you’d never be able to visit in one day and help you discover the route to Hungary in the best possible way.

Our knowledgeable local tour leaders take a small group, maximum of 8 people, for a fun-filled 12-hour road trip from Prague to Budapest (click here to book this tour the other way – from Budapest to Prague). You will learn about the history, culture, and most importantly the people of three countries - the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary in one day.

We’ll start our day by making our way to Brno, the historic and fascinating second largest city in the Czech Republic. Here we will explore the city centre and hear the stories about Brno. Next we will visit the Lednice Palace. It is famous for its gardens and as the former summer residence of the royalty of Liechtenstein. On our way towards Slovakia we pass through the beautiful Mikulov Wine Region, where little family owned wineries produce some of the best wine in the region.

In Slovakia we'll stop at Bratislava, the capital city. We’ll walk around the charming medieval Old Town with many church tower’s and admire the castle high above. Next up is Györ, already in Hungary but only a short drive from Bratislava. Györ has a fairytale-like Baroque Old Town that we’ll have a chance to discover for ourselves before we head off to Budapest, our final destination on this tour.

"Well Worth It"

I really enjoyed the trip between the two capitals. Our guide did a great job of keeping things informative and fun. I’m happy I rearranged my trip itinerary so that I was able to take this tour. It’s a phenomenal way to see several other towns and cities that you otherwise would’ve missed.

"An excellent way to see some of Czech, Slovakia and Hungary"

Our guide was so great - nice, interesting, informative and able to answer any question she was asked, but didn't hold forth unnecessarily between stops. We had a nice small group (and I was lucky with my travel companions too) and the stops were well spaced, never too long in the minibus. Very glad I decided to do the trip and would recommend it to anyone who wants to see a bit of several countries but doesn't have much time to spare.

"Fantastic way to travel from Prague to Budapest"

This was an enjoyable and extensively informative experience. Our tour guide made the day particularly fun and productive with his enthusiasm and historical/cultural knowledge. He ensured that everyone's questions were amply answered, provided interesting tips and local insights and brought super energy to the group. I would highly recommend this tour bus!

"Great way of transfer from Prague to Budapest"

Highly recommended tour. Our transfer from one country to another became more interesting. Excellent way of transfer instead of just a boring ride in a bus or train. We're able to see villages and towns along our way. We appreciated more the countries and learned more about their cultures. Would definitely recommend this tour to our family and friends.

"A great way to see the countryside!"

What a treat to get to see not only the capital cities when visiting a country but to tour the countryside and stop at historic places places along the way. This is a great tour and a great company! We've done 2 tours with them and couldn't recommend it more highly!

"Wonderful trip from Prague to Budapest"

We were a group of seven people from Italy and we had a wonderful time with our guide. She was ready to answer all of our questions and we had very interesting conversation during the driving. All the place we visited were interesting and beautiful and I think this is the best way to reach Prague from Budapest. I strongly recommend this tour.

Meeting Point

The tour starts in front of EMA Espresso Bar (Na Florenci street 1420/3, Prague). Look out for a minivan with Sidetrip logo. Our guide will meet you at the marked meeting point.
