Best day of the trip!

Our family LOVED this method of getting around the Czech Republic for our family trip! Not only did it make good use of our time, we saw the countryside and the people that make it such a beautiful country! We had looked at other tour companies but we are so glad we chose Sidetrip for our private sightseeing transfer. The service of Sidetrip was fantastic to pick us up at our desired location and dropped us off at our apartment rental in Vienna. Best of all was our fantastic guide, Zuzana! She made the trip pure joy and memorable for the whole family of 8! Zuzana was prompt, pleasant and knowledgable. She took care of helping prioritize the sites that were important to us and took extra care and attention to making sure we felt safe, taken care of and welcome in the Czech Republic. She went out of her way to find us a fantastic restaurant to have lunch at in Cesky Krumlov and gave us plenty of time to see the town. Sidetrip and Zuzana were also kind enough to accommodate a itinerary request that we had and made sure we were able to see a particular site that we wanted to do. We loved our private transfer from Prague to Vienna (via Cesky Krumlov) with Sidetrip and Zuzana! Our family still counts this day as our favorite of the whole trip with Zuzana and we would definitely schedule with Zuzana again on any future trip! Thanks again for the trip and the hike!!! ~The Willis Family :)

    What we'll do

During the tour we take a walk through the stunning Old Town of Český Krumlov. The narrow streets flanked by Renaissance style houses will take you back in time. The castle towering over the small town only adds to the fairytale-feel of Český Krumlov. We will also walk the grounds of the medieval castle and enjoy the views to the surrounding area from the top of the hill. The castle is famous not only for its own beauty and lovely gardens but also for bears that live in the moat. There will be time for a lunch stop in Český Krumlov (not included).

    About Český Krumlov

Český Krumlov town grows in medieval times around the castle. The castle was built on a strategic hill by the bend of the Vltava River where it controlled the fording of the river. Naturally this promoted trade and the city grew rich. The castle has been rebuilt several times through the centuries in the same location. Today you can follow the different architectural styles mixing together to form a unique complex. Until the 20th century Český Krumlov had a mostly German population. This changed after the Second World War, the German population was expelled and replaced by Czechs. Today the town has a population of 13 000 people.

Great way to see more than by train

We had a very nice trip with Vera from Prague to Cesky Krumlov and then on to Vienna. It gave us an opportunity to see some of the beautiful Czech and Austrian countryside, and Cesky is a wonderfully preserved medieval village. Vera was very friendly, professional, organized, and attentive. The booking and confirmation process was smooth and efficient and Sidetrip kept us well informed as the trip approached. We'll definitely do sidetrip again.

Not a real tour!

We have taken similar transfer/tours in other countries. They were always very informative and worthwhile.. Our driver was in no way giving us a tour just really transportation with a stop. - there was little effort in giving us any local information and we were encouraged to just get through the site - seemingly in a hurry to get us to our final destination. Our driver was cordial and really a nice guy - but the experience was not what we expected and would not recommend as we experienced.

Everything you need

Our family of 5 totally enjoyed the trip with our driver and guide Sarka, who not only took us safely to our destination right on time, but also provided us with a lovely tour around the town of Cesky Krumlov. Highly recommended if you would like to travel worry-free with kids.
