We loved Vera!

Vera was an amazing tour guide! My wife and I had a private tour from her of Cheszky Krumlov. She was extremely detailed and knowledgeable of all relevant topics, and gave us suggestions of places to go during our stay in Prague. We also ran into her 2 more times throughout our stay in Prague and were so happy to see a familiar face. You can tell how passionate she is about Czech culture and the history of Prague and surrounding cities. Highly recommend a tour with Vera!

    What we'll do

During the tour we take a walk through the stunning Old Town of Český Krumlov. The narrow streets flanked by Renaissance style houses will take you back in time. The castle towering over the small town only adds to the fairytale-feel of Český Krumlov. We will also walk the grounds of the medieval castle and enjoy the views to the surrounding area from the top of the hill. The castle is famous not only for its own beauty and lovely gardens but also for bears that live in the moat. There will be time for a lunch stop in Český Krumlov (not included).

    About Český Krumlov

Český Krumlov town grows in medieval times around the castle. The castle was built on a strategic hill by the bend of the Vltava River where it controlled the fording of the river. Naturally this promoted trade and the city grew rich. The castle has been rebuilt several times through the centuries in the same location. Today you can follow the different architectural styles mixing together to form a unique complex. Until the 20th century Český Krumlov had a mostly German population. This changed after the Second World War, the German population was expelled and replaced by Czechs. Today the town has a population of 13 000 people.

Great Trip Even with Unexpected Pivots

Vera was an excellent guide who went with the flow during several unexpected pivots during the trip. We went during the historic rains and flooding in Central Europe in September 2024, and even though some of the roads to Cesky Krumlov and Prague were closed because of the flooding, there was no panic and we found another route and got all of our time in the adorable Cesky Krumlov. While our tour was in the rain, it did have the nice side affect of limiting the number of visitors in Cesky Krumlov so we had some great access around the city, as well as great photos despite the rain. Vera was an excellent guide with lots of local knowledge and was happy to answer any questions we had. We would highly recommend this Sidetrip!

Cesky Krumlov Tours

We took a private tour to Cesky Krumlov on the way from Vienna to Prague.。 It was a tour that allowed us to be picked up anywhere, so I was worried about whether we would be able to meet, but they contacted me the day before and on the day itself, and they came to pick me up right on time, so I had no worries.。 Cesky Krumlov is a small town, but I was impressed by its beautiful scenery.。 Our tour driver, Levi, was very knowledgeable about the area and introduced us to some great restaurants.。 When I arrived in Prague, the streets were very narrow, but I was glad that I didn't have to carry heavy luggage because they dropped me off nearby.。 I am grateful for the wonderful time I had. Thank you very much.

Beautiful Cesky Krumlov

We enjoyed our visit to Cesky Krumlov. Vera was very good as a guide as we toured the castle and the town. During our visit, it started to rain. She found a lunch place for us so that we could take a shelter from the rain. We are vegetarian but she was able to find things for us to eat and enjoy some traditional Czech dishes. After that, she quickly went to a nearby store and got us 4 umbrellas. Private car transfer also made it easy with our luggage to go from our Vienna hotel to Prague hotel. Only suggestion that I have is for her to drive little slower. The road has many curves and at times it was little uncomfortable. Safety was not an issue. It is just feeling comfortable.
