Český Krumlov is a beautiful little city in the South of the Czech Republic with a UNESCO World Heritage protected Old Town and a charming historical castle.
What we'll do
During the tour we take a walk through the stunning Old Town of Český Krumlov. The narrow streets flanked by Renaissance style houses will take you back in time. The castle towering over the small town only adds to the fairytale-feel of Český Krumlov. We will also walk the grounds of the medieval castle and enjoy the views to the surrounding area from the top of the hill. The castle is famous not only for its own beauty and lovely gardens but also for bears that live in the moat. There will be time for a lunch stop in Český Krumlov (not included).
About Český Krumlov
Český Krumlov town grows in medieval times around the castle. The castle was built on a strategic hill by the bend of the Vltava River where it controlled the fording of the river. Naturally this promoted trade and the city grew rich. The castle has been rebuilt several times through the centuries in the same location. Today you can follow the different architectural styles mixing together to form a unique complex. Until the 20th century Český Krumlov had a mostly German population. This changed after the Second World War, the German population was expelled and replaced by Czechs. Today the town has a population of 13 000 people.

We are group of 4 needed a one way transfer to Prague and thankfully ai found sidetriptours. We originally wanted to take the train, oneway, or rent a car, but sidetrip offered a much better deal. The best part was, carefree drive with a stop for sightseeing and lunch at Chesky Krumlov. Our driver, Peter, was very good , safe driver, spoke great English and we all found a lot of subjects to talk about on our way to Prague. He picked us up ontime from our hotel in Vienna, and than showed us around the magical city of Chesky Krumlov with some interesting info, during our walks, knew the right spots to take beautiful pictures of the city, and recommended great authentic medieval spot to eat lunch. Really enjoyed our trasfer daytrip, best idea ever for reasonal cost. Recommend for anyone with the same itinerary.. thank you.
I can’t compliment Michal highly enough. He was prompt, thoughtful, interesting, funny and everything else you might want in a travel guide. He has lots of suggestions and insights that these American tourists really appreciated. And the drive from Vienna to Cesky Krumlov to Prague was really beautiful. Highly recommended!
Very helpful, great communication right from the start. The driver arrived on time, very courteous. Everything was great! Would recommend going with them.
