Join our fun and easy-going road trip from Prague to Vienna. We discover the story behind the Bone Church of Kutna Hora, roam the streets of Brno – Czech Republic's second largest city, visit the UNESCO-listed palaces of Valtice and Lednice, and travel through the picturesque Mikulov wine region. We’ll bring you to places you’d never visit in one day and help you discover the route to Austria in the best possible way.

Our knowledgeable local tour leaders take a small group, maximum of 8 people, for a fun-filled 10-hour road trip from Prague to Vienna (click here to book this tour the other way – from Vienna to Prague). You will learn about the history, culture, and most importantly the people of Czech Republic.

Start your eventful day of exploring by taking a stroll in the pretty Old Town of Kutna Hora and learning the story behind the chilling Bone Church, decorated with 40 000 human skeletons. We arrive in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic, just in time for lunch. After enjoying a refreshing meal (not included), discover the fascinating stories of the city and if you’re lucky, meet the Dragon of Brno.

In the afternoon learn about the centuries-old wine growing traditions in Mikulov area and have the pleasure of tasting the famous local wine. On your way to Vienna stop to admire one of the most impressive Baroque palaces of Central Europe in Valtice and the former summer residence of the royalty of Liechtenstein in Lednice.

"Amazing"

Amazing experience, my mum loved it. The tour guide provided a very personalised experience and atmosphere which allowed my mum and the group to bond and thoroughly enjoy the journey. She's looking forward to another sidetrip very soon out from Budapest this time.

"Awesome Experience!"

We loved this trip! Peter is a great guide.

"Great idea to get to Vienna"

Petr was great. He cared a lot about us having a good experience. I only wish we had more time to explore - though I realize this would not be possible to do in a single day.

"Fantastic day"

We really enjoyed our Sidetrip from Prague to Vienna. We had three great stops, learnt a lot from our guide and in particular loved the wine tasting! Highly recommend as a fun way to get from a to b.

"My family had a fun time with Alex and Sidetrips!"

Alex was a lovely (and very safe) driver and tour guide, and not only did we learn a bit about every sight that we visited, we also got to chat about the politics, day to day life, and other issues that relate to those living in Eastern Europe. Alex was friendly, always kind and patient, and very easy to get along with in general. My parents are usually the restless types but this SideTrip kept their attention the whole time (that being said, the ride was so peaceful, we all definitely took a well deserved nap in between meals, too). Extra note: My family is vegetarian and Alex is, too, which was great because she had the perfect restaurant recommendations for lunch!

"Wonderful experience"

Pavlina was incredibly friendly and has a great sense of humour. She was very knowledgeable about all of the sites we visited and shared Czech customs with us (the Easter tradition was particularly memorable). Overall, a lovely day and way to travel. We saw more sites than we would have otherwise and throughly enjoyed the company of the other people we shared the journey with.

Meeting Point

The tour starts in front of EMA Espresso Bar (Na Florenci street 1420/3, Prague). Look out for a minivan with Sidetrip logo. Our guide will meet you at the marked meeting point.
