We’ll take a leisurely walk through the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Český Krumlov, exploring its medieval streets, majestic castle, and scenic hilltop views.

What we'll do
We'll take a leisurely walk through the breathtaking Old Town of Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its well-preserved medieval charm. As we wander through its narrow, winding streets, lined with beautiful Renaissance-style houses, it will feel like stepping back in time.
Overlooking the town is the majestic Český Krumlov Castle, an architectural masterpiece that adds to the fairy-tale atmosphere. We’ll explore the castle grounds, take in panoramic views from the hilltop, and admire the stunning gardens. A unique highlight of the castle is its historic moat, home to live bears, a centuries-old tradition that continues today.
There will also be time for a lunch stop (not included), allowing you to soak in the town’s charming ambiance before we continue our journey.

About Český Krumlov
Český Krumlov emerged as a thriving medieval town, growing around its strategically positioned castle. Built atop a hill overlooking a bend in the Vltava River, the castle controlled an important river crossing, which naturally encouraged trade and prosperity, leading to the town’s rapid development.
Over the centuries, Český Krumlov Castle has been rebuilt and expanded multiple times, blending Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural styles into a unique and harmonious complex. Today, visitors can trace these architectural transformations, each reflecting a different chapter of the town’s history.
Until the 20th century, Český Krumlov had a predominantly German population, but after World War II, the German inhabitants were expelled and replaced by Czech settlers. Today, the town is home to around 13,000 residents, preserving its rich history and fairy-tale charm as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most picturesque destinations in the Czechia.

We had a wonderful trip from Munich to Cesky Krumlov and then on to Prague.. Our guide Jana was terrific and was a wealth of knowledge about the places we visited.. I would highly recommend this tour.
Jana was very prompt at pickup time and she was so friendly right from the start. She shared so much knowledge and insight during the drive from Salzburg to Prague about Czech history, culture, language, great places to visit, eat, and shop in Prague, etc. Our midway stop in Cesky Krumlov was absolutely delightful. We really enjoyed our sidetrip tour with Jana and would highly recommend!
Abdul was a superb driver and guide from Salzburg to Prague. Our one main stop was the beautiful Czech village of Cesky Krumlov, where he gave us a terrific tour of the castle grounds and village, gave us a great restaurant recommendation, and offered us as much time as we wanted to explore the shops. We enjoyed our time so much and appreciated his expertise and warm service!
