The transfer from Vienna to Prague was so much fun! They were prompt and informative and very accommodating. Alexandra was very informative and we had a great time visiting the smaller villages and towns on the way to our final destination. It felt more like traveling with friends and allowed for us to learn more about the culture and countries through conversations we wouldn’t have with a typical transfer. Will keep in mind for future trips to Europe!

Stop 1: Český Krumlov
We’ll take a leisurely walk through the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Český Krumlov, exploring its medieval streets, majestic castle, and scenic hilltop views.
We'll take a leisurely walk through the breathtaking Old Town of Český Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its well-preserved medieval charm. As we wander through its narrow, winding streets, lined with beautiful Renaissance-style houses, it will feel like stepping back in time.
Overlooking the town is the majestic Český Krumlov Castle, an architectural masterpiece that adds to the fairy-tale atmosphere. We’ll explore the castle grounds, take in panoramic views from the hilltop, and admire the stunning gardens. A unique highlight of the castle is its historic moat, home to live bears, a centuries-old tradition that continues today.
There will also be time for a lunch stop (not included), allowing you to soak in the town’s charming ambiance before we continue our journey.
About Český Krumlov
Český Krumlov emerged as a thriving medieval town, growing around its strategically positioned castle. Built atop a hill overlooking a bend in the Vltava River, the castle controlled an important river crossing, which naturally encouraged trade and prosperity, leading to the town’s rapid development.
Over the centuries, Český Krumlov Castle has been rebuilt and expanded multiple times, blending Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural styles into a unique and harmonious complex. Today, visitors can trace these architectural transformations, each reflecting a different chapter of the town’s history.
Until the 20th century, Český Krumlov had a predominantly German population, but after World War II, the German inhabitants were expelled and replaced by Czech settlers. Today, the town is home to around 13,000 residents, preserving its rich history and fairy-tale charm as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most picturesque destinations in the Czechia.

FANTASTIC!
We are so fortunate to have discovered SideTrip tours and know we made the best decision to book a private tour from Vienna to Prague via Cesky Krumlov. Our guide, Petra, was so friendly and provided us with fun and historical info along the drive as well as while we walked through Cesky Krumlov; this location is a site not to be missed if you can make it happen! Petra’s fun way to share her knowledge of Cesky Krumlov and its history, combined with her suggestion to take family photos for us at beautiful sites within the city and her fantastic restaurant recommendation along the Vitava(?) River made this a bonus vacation within a necessary travel journey. The Cesky Krumlov adventure allowed us to continue being in a “vacation-mode” mindset versus just traveling-to-get-there. We are so happy we travelled with SideTrip Tours and Petra! Thank you!
