Better than flying!!!

We chose Side Trip Tours for our Vienna to Budapest transfer just for something different and we are very glad that we did so!!! Instead of doing the long trip to the airport and waiting for hours and then getting to our next accommodation we were simply a short tram ride away from the pickup point and we were on our way! We stopped in Bratislava in Slovenia as well as Gyor. Our guide showed us around both places and we learned a lot about a country we didn’t know at all. Such a relaxing way to transfer and see some sights along the way. We highly recommend Side Trip Tours.

The river has brought people, trade, and wealth to the region throughout history. In the 18th century the city prospered and that is when most of the beautiful Old Town was built. About Esztergom
Esztergom Basilica is located on the Danube River in the city of Esztergom. This city was the most important city in Hungary in medieval times. It was a royal residence and the heart of the state before Buda’s rise in importance. The many invasions to this area, first by Mongols in the 13th century and later Turkish invasions in the 16th and 17th century destroyed the old Esztergom. The city has been rebuilt again and again, attesting to the resilience of the people who live here.

Fascinating, fun day

Our guide, Csenge, was kind and helpful throughout the day. It was a pleasure to travel with her. We loved seeing Bratislava - we were lucky enough to be there during Christmas Market season - Gyor, Esztergom and Szentendre. Pickup at our hotel in Vienna (and safe storage of our luggage), and drop-off at our hotel in Budapest was easy and frictionless. Thanks for a great day!

Wonderful day to spend 1 day moving through 3 countries

We enjoyed our trip very much with our guide Levi, who not only drove us from Vienna to Budapest but also provided us with lots of useful insights into each of the destinations we were visiting along the way. All the designated stops were wonderful destinations in themselves, the guide gave good information on the history, the people, the traditions, we also had a taste of some interesting local cuisines. Would certainly recommend and would take their tour again in future!!

A Unique Travel Experience!

It was a wonderful way to see more outside the major cities! We ended up having a private tour as we were the only ones who booked for the day. It was the perfect way to see Bratislava, Gyor, and parts of Budapest we would not have seen otherwise! Our guide and driver, Levi, was incredibly beneficial and knowledgeable. He even offered to let us modify the itinerary to fit our desires. I highly recommend checking it out if you have the time on your travel days!
