Friendliest tour guide and realiable guide. Sharp on time. Recommended.
This tripe was awesome. We were able to see things that we would not have been able to see on our own. Our guide was amazing, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We would definitely use Side Trips again.
It was the perfect way to kickstart my trip to Budapest! Wish I had done this for other routes Tour guide: Andrea (HU) Andrea never ran out of interesting trivia and engaging stories from Hungary's history. In my next few days in Budapest, I went on a handful of other tours in the city, and I already knew most of what would be said in the intros to Budapest & Hungary! All thanks to what Andrea had taught us during our Sidetrip tour. The hidden gem in this tour is a small synagogue and memorial in Szentendre that I would never have found if I had just gone by what TripAdvisor or travel blogs said. I truly appreciate that Andrea devoted time to discuss the history of the Jewish in Hungary, and made the effort to ensure that we got our facts straight (e.g. the location of the "Shoes on the Danube" memorial isn't actually where the atrocities being referred to happened). Driver: Tomas (HU) Tomas so kindly brought us to a view point with stunning (and crowd-free) vistas of Esztergom [which we were told not all drivers on this tour do]. He notably did this despite some unexpected traffic on the road. I felt safe the whole time during the drives, plus we made it to Budapest on schedule. Vehicle: icing on the cake :P it's superb It was clean, looked fairly new and well maintained, spacious and comfortable inside, and had seat belts for everyone.
The private tour from Prague to Bratislava was the highlight of my trip! Alexandra was an amazing guide; she was fun, engaging, and knowledgable. I loved seeing the towns of Kunta Hora and Brno, touring the grounds of Lednice Palace, and experiencing a wine tasting at Holanek Vineyard in the Moravian region. Alexandra took care of all the details and even provided umbrellas when it rained; she was extremely helpful by providing suggestions for things to do in Bratislava. The door-to-door service made the logistics easy. I will definitely be taking another tour with this company when I need to travel between European cities. Thank you Triin and Alexandra for making this a memorable experience!
I was booked on this very small group tour that ended up being cancelled the day before it was scheduled for on Monday, July 8, 2019, becasue the other passengers had cancelled out, but then Triin Magi at Sidetrip stepped up to the plate. Triin listened to my disappointment of this tour bus being cancelled since it was my lifelong dream to visit my dad's country of Slovakia and I had set my heart on this tour bus that would be a tour from Prague down to Bratislava. Triin arranged for me to take a train down to Bratislava and to be met by the most wonderful tour guide ever, whose name is Gabriela. Gabriela was right there at the train station and she took me on the best private tour from Bratislava up to Ledniche (the village of my surname), and all around the surrounding areas. My camera had broken and Gabriela was ever so kind to take all the photos I wanted on her own camera for me to not miss these special memories to share with my own family and friends in the U.S. after my return. I would highly recommend using Sidetrip for any all all of your travel excursions and please do ask for Gabriela when you are heading to Bratislava, she absolutely goes above and beyond in her tours and is extremely professional yet at the same time very easy to speak with and relate too. Thank you all at Sidetrip for making this such a special trip for me!! Gratefully and Joyfully, Pamela L.
Peter was amazing as a tour guide! He was a great a conversationalist and educated us on a lot of Czech and Slovakian history. It was truly a pleasure! He also recommended great places for us to eat lunch and dinner at. The stops were also super fun! We stopped at Kutna Hora and Brno and got to experience the local culture for sometime. We also had a chance to check out the summer family residence of the Leichtenstein family and taste some of the local wine and burcak! Bratislava didn't have much to experience, so if you have the opportunity to go from Bratislava to Prague, this is highly recommended, not the route we picked. But otherwise super fun!
We had a fantastic time! It was raining the day we left, so our guide, Petr arrived with umbrellas! We toured the gardens of the summer home ( if you can call it that) of the Liechtenstein family. We were so enchanted that we wanted to tour the house which Petr arranged. We had about an hour and a half before the tour, so our guide took us wine tasting. When we got to the winery, it was closed. Petr called the owner showed up about 5 minutes later and we tasted about 10 different wines! (We bought 6 bottles which all made it home). Lunch was at a local restaurant, which was fabulous. Because of the rain, we took a tour of the Tabor underground tunnels. Our tour guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating. He let us take our time and wasn't worried that the tour was going to take longer. Driving also allowed us to see the Czech countryside which contained some very beautiful forest land!
Our tour went through Gyor, Visegrad, Esztergom, and Szentendre. All of these cities were great to visit and see, and were place we likely would never have seen otherwise - Szentendre was our favorite. Communication with the company was good, and the transport was nice and comfortable. The guide was great showing us around each city. Our only comment was that it would have been nice had the guide talked a bit more during the drives. She was very willing to answer questions, but we didn't know much about the areas of Slovakia and Hungary we drove through, so additional information on that part of the trip would have been great.
The tour was perfect, the van was very comfortable and our guide Andrea was very kind. I definitely recommend to take this tour, the places we visited are amazing, is a good way to know a little more about Hungary.
Best way to quickly switch to being one of the locals and see this sites on very friendly A > B tour. Alexandra was a fantastic tour guide and very knowledgeable about sites we’ve visited, history, traditions and current affairs as well! Thank you.
Love the sceneries, especially garden at Lednice Castle, along this one way trip to Bratislava. Pav, our tour guide & driver is so helpful. I learned about Chez Republic. She even dropped us off at our hotel at Bratislava due to late arrival. Worth the money.
We had a wonderful day with Sarka on our trip from Prague to Bratislava. The sights were very beautiful and interesting and Sarka was a very nice guide who made sure we were comfortable throughout the long trip and taught us a lot about the region and each of the stops. We definitely recommend taking a Side Trip Tour as an alternative to a train or large bus that allows you to stop and take in lots of more "off the beaten path" sights as you make your way from one major city to the next. Kutna Hora, the Milukov Region, and Lednice were our favorite stops of the day. Thank you!
Comfortable ride, enough interesting, beautiful stops with great information on the spot by the guide. We have seen places we would normally never visit (or even find). A very recommended way the travel from Bratislava to Budapest!
What a great way to see choice bits of Slovakia and Hungary outside their capitals. Our well-informed guide led us on a well-organized tour.
A great way to travel from Bratislava to Budapest. Travelled in comfort and met some lovely people, and stopped off at a variety of places. We had a great guide and a great day was had by all. 10 hours went by in a flash.
Our guide was fun, full of energy and extremely knowledgable as well as being a safe driver. The tour makes for a long day but it is very varied and well planned with plenty of stops. we had a couple of lovely walks as well as seeing some local towns and some offbeat attractions! I felt well looked after.
Great way to travel from Slovakia to Hungary. Nice small group of people, comfortable transport but above all a friendly, funny, knowledgable and caring guide. Definitely recommend it
The tour from Prague to Bratislava was amazing! The guides, were very gentle and good prepared! Their presence made the tour even more interesting! I recommend this tour!
Absolutely one of the highlights of my trip! Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! Great experience!
We had an amazing day exploring the country side from Prague to Bratislava. Our guide knew all the good spots and had amazing knowledge during our chats in the car. Seriously no better way to travel between the two Cities.
This was a long day, although as advertised almost 10 hours. Our guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, polite and nothing was too much trouble. He looked after us very well.
Very good, helpful & knowledgeable guide, very interesting sightseeing stops. Good lunch break, arrived in Bratislava in good time.
What an excellent way to travel to Prague and visit the sights not often accessible to tourists. We had a small group of travellers and a passionate and knowledgeable guide. Our guide made history come to life - with her interesting stories and perspectives throughout the day...going the extra mile to be sure we all enjoyed the day.
The tour was a combination of education, hilarity, and fun. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great time.
Initially, I was just going to take an express bus from Prague to Bratislava, but fortunately I stumbled online to this tour. It was fantastic! It was a great value. I had wanted to go to some of these sites and this was the most efficient and cost effective way of seeing them. This is definitely a must!
Perfect experience! Really learned a lot about these two country, the trip was well prepared and scheduled and the food was really impressive!
If you are going from Bratislava to Budapest this sightseeing bus is the best option to learn about Slovak and Hugarian contryside
My family LOVED our trip between Prague and Bratislava. The stops were GREAT and made what could have been a boring travel day into a fun adventure! We never would have found the sites we visited on our own, nor would we have learned as much. The van was comfortable and the restaurant where we are at lunch was excellent. Book this trip; you won’t regret it!
An incredible experience discovering the essence of two sister countries.
The tour was so good! Even with the rain trying to stop us, far better than boring hours in a bus watching series. I really enjoyed all the places. I enjoyed sharing music and life’s experiences during the rides. Totally recommend !
We had a hugely enjoyable trip from Prague to Bratislava. Indeed in some ways it was quite the best day of our holiday! In addition to seeing places we might never otherwise have visited. Thank you Traveller Tours, for a memorable day.
This trip beats a regular bus/train ride between Bratislava and Budapest, hands down. Great trip itinerary. Our guide was fun and friendly and did a great job teaching us about her native land (nothing better than chatting with a local to learn about a country!)
The group got a good insight into the history of the two countries .Ten hours well spent saw plenty.
This day tour is excellent and all thanks to our guide. She was a bundle of energy, enthusastic, informative and so much fun to be with. She told us lots of history in an entertaining way. I would recommend everyone to take this trip.
Our guide was awesome and informative. The stops were well timed! Beautiful drive and we liked everything.
I found this good idea on Trip Advisor: instead of going straigth from Bratislava to Budapest, make a relaxed trip with a mini bus and enjoy a different prospective of these two countries. Me and my daughter enjoyed this trip, it' a wonderful idea going with traveller tours between the capitals. Enjoy it!
We simply would not have been able to explore the sights independently in a short time frame so are very grateful to the company for a well organised and interesting itinerary which is quite affordable. I have a better appreciation of the struggles and challenges people have faced in the Central Europe region and really admire young people like our guide sharing his love and loyalty of his home country. It gives us such hope that the world can be a better place.
We had a great time on our tour. So many beautiful and thought provoking places to visit. We had the right mix of explanation and free time.
I was amazed how quickly the time went and how soon we were approaching our destination, Prague. If it is about the journey then this is a good option for you. Great information, quality mini bus and the regular interesting stops get top marks from me.
What a great day, our guide was amazing and kept throwing in little extras the tour shows us places I would hit other known or been able to get to and all told with passion and knowledge. Cannot recommend more.
The tour was super great. We stopped at the most important sites between Prague and Bratislava, saving time and trouble. We were only 8 people in the group, which was perfect for this tour, and we had a fantastic guide. Perfect day with great company.
Lovely animated guide who enjoys her job, good food and interesting sights. Very recommended .
I have taken so many tours and travelled a lot, but I was so pleasantly surprised by this tour. I think it is the best one I have taken in Europe!! We visited the cutest little towns, had coffee in amazing place, went underground and the best - were driving through the narrow streets of Znojmo while having a karaoke in the car!! The guide was safe driver (the streets reminded me Italy and she managed to maneuver perfectly) and so fun to be around
We didn’t know what to expect out of a 10 hour tour with total strangers, then the tour made the highlight of our stay, the guide was perfect in creating a lively atmosphere throughout and caring for all our needs. The scenery and the places visited were amazing... highly recommended!
I took a tour from Prague to Vienna, then took a regular bus from Vienna to Bratislava (they are really close) and another tour back with Sidetrip from Bratislava to Prague and I think it was a great way to do it. I saw so much, met other like-minded travellers and really enjoyed the tours.
I took the tour from Prague to Bratislava and it was fantastic! We had a really fun day and learnt so much from the guide. My favourite was the wine region and the Lednice and Vatice palaces were so beautiful.
All our tour guides are young educated locals so the tours feel more like discovering with a local friend.
With us you'll explore the highlights, but also experience authentic less-discovered destinations.
We want everyone to get personal attention from the guide so we aim to keep our groups rather small.
