Visit the imposing Eszterházy Palace, Tata Castle and towns of Sopron & Győr on your way from Budapest to Vienna.
Budapest was our only Hungarian destination so the Sidetrip tour offered a small window to see other parts of this beautiful country. Our guide, Andrea, is very knowledgeable making the tour all the more enjoyable. We highly recommend it.
I highly suggest this side trip . Our tour guide and driver was wonderful. Andera and Tomis were great . I travel a lot and I cannot say I ever enjoy a tour more.
Guide - Andi Driver - Tamas I can't offer enough praise for this experience. This was a great day. I learned, laughed and never once felt bored. Hungary is a country I knew very little about and after this drive, I was left wanting more. Thank you so much for a wonderful day!
The tour, led by the very knowledgeable but incredibly patient tour guide Andrea, was wonderful. It is highly recommended for the insights you gain from the tour guide, as well as an excellent opportunity to meet new friends! I will certainly book more sidetrip tours in the future travels.
We have a loving guide and a very good driver. We did enjoy the private tour which also saved us fro moving luggage.
Andrea did a nice job, however I felt she may have talked a little too much. It could be hard to hear her sometimes. We appreciated her insight into life in Hungary, and experiences when the iron curtain fell. Gyor and Eszterhazy castle were the highlights for me. Sopron, while beautiful, was a little bit of a letdown, perhaps because we didn’t get there until 5, and it seemed to be a bit sleepy. Also, we were near the end of the day, and a bit tired. Overall, it was a great way to travel between Budapest and Vienna!
This side trip transfer was amazing. Our tour guide and driver were very knowledgeable and the towns and cities we stopped at were all very interesting. It was nice to see and learn the sights and history of the areas between the 2 large cities.
Our tour guide Andrea was excellent and so with our driver Thomas. Our tour from Budapest to Vienna was worth the price, at least we saw places on our way to Vienna instead of just taking the train.
There was only one negative and that was our bus was over booked and two customers had to find another way to Vienna. Our advice is make sure you contact and confirm your reservation a day or to ahead of your departure. Other than for that situation we were very impressed with our guide Andrea and her enthusiasm for the history of Hungary. We saw and experienced another side of Hungary outside of Budapest . Highly recommend this experience if you have the time.
We wanted to travel from Budapest to Vienna but wanted to see more along the way than a train would have allowed. Our lovely day trip with our guide Noemi and driver Noah was the perfect solution! They were both professional and very accommodating. Noemi was well informed and happy to answer all our questions. I would recommend this trip for anyone who wants to take the road less traveled and see more along the way. It was a good value for the price!!
This was the first Side Trip for me and my wife. Were we looking for a way to get from Budapest to Vienna and see some of the sights in between. Side Trips was the perfect choice. They met us at the pickup location with a nice minivan, tour guide, and driver. Besides me and my wife, there were 3 other guests. The minivan was very roomy and comfortable. We made 4 stops on the way to Vienna. All of these stops were to quaint little towns off the beaten path that had few tourists but were very quaint with scenic views and interesting history. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The driver seemed to be a good driver who would drop us off near a good starting point then go park somewhere until called by the guide. It was everything we were looking for. We will certainly use Side Trips again.
Wonderful way to see the small towns and less visited parts of the country while travelling to and from major cities, and economical too. One would not likely have visited the places along the route, if not for such a trip. Andrea our guide provided lots of flexibility in timing and what to do, and also allowed time to sample local foods.
This tour was an awesome way to see sights that you would miss if traveling by train or plane between cities. We loved exploring the smaller towns with our guide Andrea, who gave us really helpful background and history of Hungary. Highly recommend!
Andrea was awesome! We loved this tour and it was a highlight on our trip! We learned a lot and got to see parts of Hungary we would have never seen had we not signed up for this! Definitely recommend it.
A fun way to see more of Hungary and visit places you wouldn't normally do. Small group gives more flexibility.
Our tour guide and driver created a great day for us. A very personal experience with lots of information.
Our guide Andrea was very knowledgeable and speaks good English. Very friendly and helpful. Instead of taking a train straight from Budapest to Vienna, taking Sidetrip is a good way to look at other towns along the way. I thought it was money well spent.
My favorite place for this trip is Sopron. Unfortunately, the first bathroom stop has only 1 bathroom. We have 10 people on the bus tour and the bathroom stop was like 30 minutes. Generally, the tour is relaxing.
Naomi was very friendly and definitely knew everything about the history of many of the wars in Europe. We had a wonderful trip w/Thomas, our driver and Noemi, our tour guide. Stopped in amazing places. Tatabanya, Gyor, Fertud & Sopron. I would definitely recommend this trip. The only mishap was before the bus tour there was no confirmation the night before. It would be great if the company confirmed by cell phone text. Email confirmation is fine but with all the scam junk mail happening these days you never know if you are also being scammed. Thank you Side Trip tours for a wonderful experience in Central Europe ❤️
We had an excellent guide. Her knowledge of the history of the area is incredible. She spoke very good English and kept us all engaged. Would highly recommend this trip.
This is an amazing idea we found on the internet. Instead of travelling by train/coach from point A to point B, you get the chance to explore beautiful towns/villages on the way. They provided a spacious van and the group was small (4 passengers in this trip) which made the tour relaxing. Our guide was Csenge on this trip who was absolutely amazing. She gave us a good overview of the history of the towns. We sampled local wine and food with her as well. The tour was well paced and relaxed. We reached Vienna by 7 in the evening. They are reasonably priced and we did another trip with them. Would definitely recommend.
Our lovely guide Csenge was really accommodating throughout the trip, introducing local cuisines and culture to us. SideTrip is a great way to discover hidden gems along the way to your destination.
Highly recommend this tour to get you from Budapest to Vienna. Our guide Csenge was fantastic. A great way to see some of the towns and sites less frequented by other tourists.
We were met at the pick up point by English speaking Andrea, who led us to the van. We expected a van with a SideTrip logo to be waiting at the pick up point, and we experienced some uncertainty until Andrea arrived. There were 4 passengers in all. We visited 3 sites on the way and Andrea was very knowledgable about the historical events and architechture. Sopron was especially interesting. It was a very hot day, and she made an effort to keep us out of the sun, and provided water bottles. We asked to arrive in Vienna earlier than originally planned, and the driver was willing to drive us as close as possible to our hotel.
I'm sorry I cannot remember the young guides name but she was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her country. We were one of the first tours she had taken on this trip She could answer all questions. We went to a small city that had a fort and an area with many different types of architecture but it could have been left off the tour.
Generally was pleasant and interesting to learn about some of the smaller cities outside the most travelled route and if you have the time to spend the entire day
The guide and driver were very helpful and knowledgeable. The tour was a little too long and maybe too much history for a non-Hungarian. Overall the trip was enjoyable. The van was very comfortable.
We had a great tour with Noemi! Thanks so much!
This trip gave us the possibility to learn new places of Hungary and Slovakia, mostly not described in your typical guidebook. Our guide was a very friendly and enthusiastic person, who gave us very good instructional and sometimes funny explanations of the monuments and places.
I'm not usually too into these kind of sightseeing tours, but this was well worth the money. The visits were very interesting and our guide was very friendly and gave great information about all the places we went. Can highly recommend!
Our driver and our guide was so good to us, always smiling, that's what we need as a traveler, our guide Chanka was so informative, she shows us every corner we need to see and told us about the history of the person or the places, she is not rushing us for the whole journey. It is a good way to take this bus to Vienna with the tour, get the chance to see the country side of the Budapest ,worth it.
The transfer from Budapest to Bratislava was truly enriched by this tour. Charming historic towns and beautiful nature made for a perfect combination. Highly recommended!
Great way to make the trip to Bratislava from Budapest. Wonderful driver who filled us in on the history and culture of both countries. Super lunch at a marvelous restaurant. The time just flew by! Thank you for the great adventure!
What made this travel wonderful was the great talent of our guide. She has everything planned in the right measure and make us feel as guests.
Our guide is friendly and professional. The tour is value for money. Highly recommend for tourists who want to travel from Budapest to Bratislava.
We have had a wonderful trip from Budapest to Vienna with an incredible girl. She has been tireless, funny and really competent. Her enthusiasm was engaging and she showed us places that otherwise we would never have visited. We travelled with our girl, 5 years old, and it was nice for her too. Happy to have chosen this way to travel from one city to another.
Just a great tour not to mention an informative and traveler-smart way to get between Budapest and Vienna. We saw so many things and just had a wonderful time. It doesn‘t get better than a great tour with a great guide. We really recommend it!
Very friendly guide who told us interesting stories, familiar atmosphere (small group), it was a perfect day. Recommended to everyone who wants to make the journey from Budapest to Vienna unforgetable.
This was a great trip! Our guide was very knowledgeable and created a fun, relaxed environment. If you're going from Budapest to Vienna, this is a unique way to see more of the sites and enjoy a the journey.
No matter the stops, the guide always makes the trip, and our guide was fantastic. She was super enthusiastic, energetic and informative. She was so animated and humorous when delivering the information.
A great way to get from A to B with a lot of interesting history along the way. Our guide was really informative and energetic and went the extra mile to make sure we got the most out of each visit along the route. All stops were well worth seeing and I'd recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about the history and culture as well.
Everything that is in the description on the website is true! The bus was there on time, there was room for luggage and ... it was comfy to ride in! Our guide was just amazing. You just had to like her from the beginning. She easily connected with all the guests and really made the people see the country. Even though the weather changed between light and heavy rain during the day, she was our sunshine on this day! We can highly recommend taking this trip!
Wonderful trip. Wonderfoul group. Amazing tour guide! Thank you for the experience and all the information shared during those 10 hours :)
Tour was relaxing fun and educational
Just such an interesting and varied day. Our guide was so knowledgeable and told us the history of both countries in an amusing and often moving way. Highly recommended and an unforgettable experience.
The tour was really interesting because we visited monuments and places off the beaten track. The guide was so nice and interested in getting to know all of us, we had a really good time. In addition to that, learnt much about Hungary and Slovakia.
Our sightseeing tour was very well organised and plenty of interesting stops. Thank you!
We had a great time on the trip - it was a very fun way to travel between Budapaest and Vienna. We stopped at lots of interesting places, there were plenty of stops for snacks/toilets, and a lovely lunch at a local restaurant. 10/10 would recommend.
It was an enjoyable day because the guide was chatty and outgoing and the places we visited were very interesting. Advice to other travellers. Book this tour!
Our guide was great, very happy and bright. She gave us a bit of history along the way. She even told us about her own personal family storyies. It was a terrific day, even though it rained. It was a great way to see the countryside and have a transfer at the same time. A very clever way to get from A to B. i highly recommend this tour.
It was a wonderful day. We learned some history and saw the beautiful scenery. And our guide was kind and passionate. Love the trip.
An interesting tour, with a charismatic and knowledgeable tour guide. He lead the tour with enthusiasm and understanding of the group he was leading and was able to answer all questions asked.
Tour guide was a friendly young man, helpful, lots of humour , and information , spoke very good English
Lots of interesting stops and a comfortable drive make this a great way to see Hungary and Slovakia outside the main cities.
I went with three other friends and we booked the Budapest - Bratislava and the Bratislava -Prague tours with this company and it was incredible! 2 fantastic days with amazing and fun guides.
This tour was a great way to see the countryside between Budapest and Bratislava. Our guide was great. I'd highly recommend this travel option.
All our tour guides are young educated locals so the tours feel more like discovering with a local friend.
With us you'll explore the highlights, but also experience authentic less-discovered destinations.
We want everyone to get personal attention from the guide so we aim to keep our groups rather small.
